When Sex and Fertility Become Friends

Sympto-thermal – have
you ever heard of it?

«Natural contraception is not safe enough». This is what most people have in mind because they are ignorant of the Symptothermal Method (STM). Consequently, they also do not know that the STM is a powerful help if you want to become pregnant: it is the first step the infertile couple has to undertake. The underlying reason for this ignorance is financial: the multibillion-dollar hormone industry and, most western general practitioners and gynaecologists discourage you from getting involved with your own cycle. Taking drugs to forget about a problem is the mainstream Western ideology and not self awareness and knowledge of one ’s body to prevent diseases. It is really strange that the reliability and usefulness of the STM, although it is recognised by World Health Organisation (WHO), is not actively promoted by national health authorities since STM empowers you to increase your sexual and reproductive health.

«Symptothermal» means that a rise in
temperature («thermal»), which indicates ovulation, is always interpreted incorrelation with cervical mucus («sympto»), which reveals the ovarian activity.
Thanks to your temperature recordings
and mucus observations, you can exactly determine the infertile and fertile days of your cycles. A third, optional sign, the cervix check, can be very useful in doubtful situations, for example when the cervical mucus secretion cannot be observed at the vulva. Other observations (breast tenderness, intermenstrual pain) might also help in the analysis.

Notice importante
